Truck collides with car on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway near Palladam

Tirupur: A lorry collided with a Mahindra Xylo car on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway near Palladam.

A lorry carrying rice bundles from Pollikkalipalayam area next to Palladam in Tirupur district came to unload the bundles at the rice mandi in Bangalore.

The truck was driven by Ganesan from Bangalore. He had parked the lorry on the side of the road on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway and suddenlyturned right without knowing the car was coming from behind.

The car coming from behind then collided with the truck. Samsuddin, Riyaz, from Trichy and two children who came in the car in the accident fortunately survived with minor injuries.

Ganesan, who was driving the truck, also escaped with minor injuries. The public in the area who saw the accident immediately informed the AvinashiPolice.

Police rushed to the spot and rushed the victims to Palladam Government Hospital for treatment. CCTV footage of the crash has been retrieved.
